Example of what we see: "The mortgage calculator had 523 visitors today." That's it.
How Our Calculators Work
Client-Side Processing
All calculations happen in your web browser using JavaScript. When you enter:
- Your salary into the tax calculator
- Your property value into the mortgage calculator
- Your savings into the compound interest calculator
...these numbers are processed locally on your device. They are never sent to our servers.
Technical Explanation
How it works:
- You enter data into the calculator form
- JavaScript in your browser performs the calculations
- Results are displayed on your screen
- If you close the browser, all data is cleared (unless you save a PDF locally)
At no point does your data leave your device or get stored on our servers.
PDF Downloads
Some calculators let you download results as a PDF. These PDFs are:
- ✅ Generated in your browser
- ✅ Saved to your device
- ❌ Never sent to our servers
- ❌ Never stored by us
We use a client-side library (jsPDF) to create PDFs without any server interaction.
Third-Party Services
Hosting
UK Financial Hub is hosted on Netlify, which may collect basic server logs (IP addresses, browser type) for security and performance purposes. These logs are governed by Netlify's Privacy Policy.
Analytics (if used)
If we use analytics in the future, we will only use privacy-focused services like Plausible or Simple Analytics that:
- Don't use cookies
- Don't collect personal data
- Comply with GDPR without consent banners
